MHS Moves to Add Community Service to Graduation Requirements

We have worked very hard at Messalonskee to increase students awareness of the tremendous positive impact that they can have on our community through service.

Over the last few years you may be aware of the work our students have done in and out of our school (paint the school, community projects, stocking food pantry, trail & bridge work, humane society,  etc.) as well as student council’s move to make our Spring Fling (traditionally only a day of fun) into a Day of Caring.  Currently we are working to modify our graduation requirements to include a service credit requirement for all students at MHS.  We are tremendously excited at formalizing the volunteerism and service work that has been growing over the last few years at MHS.
