Dec 3-7 is Patriotism Week at MHS!

I am Nate Nalley and on behalf of the Messalonskee Student Council I would like to introduce Patriotism Week that will be taking place the First full week of December (3rd-7th). This week has been designed in remembrance of Pearl Harbor which takes place on the 7th. The entire week though is not only for Pearl Harbor, but designed as a way of saying thank you to those who are now or have served in the military, POW( Prisoners of War) and those who have gone missing or lost their lives for their country. We hope that this week will raise awareness and allow us to show our support and patriotism of these valiant American Service-people.

The Week’s Events:

Monday 3rd 7:30am- 7:45 Oakland Legion will be doing a Flag folding presentation followed by an announcement by student council of the week’s events.

Tuesday 4th– Flag Day – Students and Staff will wear Red White and Blue

Wednesday 5th– Students and Staff will be wearing black in honor of “Remembrance Day”.  During lunch time the Oakland legion will be doing a “Table Of One” ceremony as a remembrance for those who are Prisoners of War and those who are Missing in Action

Thursday 6th-  Thursday is Camo-Day so wear your Camo!

Friday 7th- Pearl Harbor Day,  There will be a presentation on Pearl Harbor to close the week’s activities.

We urge everyone to step up and support this week of awareness.

(Anyone interested in volunteering or taking part should feel free to contact school administration)
