I do not remember a time when Eagle Pride was more consistently displayed than throughout this week’s Homecoming activities. From the weekend hallway decorations through the opening Human Chain activity through the pep-rally, parade & bonfire, class competitions, the games, color days, to this Saturday’s dance… Homecoming 2013 was a huge success!
Some pics from the Hallways this week:
This week was one of the most closely contested class competitions we have had over the last three years; going into Friday’s activities all four classes had a chance to win. The awarding of the Spirit Stick ultimately came down to the wire as the Juniors took victory in a hotly contested dance competition Saturday night. Although the Juniors won that night, the Seniors narrowly edged them out securing their fourth victory in a row to secure the spirit stick and a place in the MHS history books.
Class Competition Results:
1st Place – Seniors
2nd Place – Juniors
3rd Place – Sophomores
4th Place – Freshmen
Not only was a lot of fun had over the course of the week, but we had an opportunity to again see the galvanizing effects of an event like this on the school and our larger community. From the Alumni Association’s gracious decorations, enthusiasm and help all week to businesses stepping up like Hammond Lumber (who donated the trucks and drivers for the class floats) to the students, teachers, parents, and community members that came out in support of our school – Eagle Pride was the theme of the week for sure!
We look forward to seeing everyone at MHS at our competitions over the next few weeks as our teams look to make their playoff drive. Go Eagles!
